  • Less than a month into the 2011 Grad Year recruiting cycle, the Irvine Soccer Club has it's first two college commitments of the cycle! Omid Jalali, the son of Loretta and Bijan Jalali, has verbally commited to play for Kevin Grimes at the University of California, Berkeley.   •  ISC Development Academy teammates Kovi Konowiecki and Joseph Sofia Jr. shared the same adidas ESP 09 All Star pitch with 3-time FIFA World Player of the Year, Zinedine Zidane Tuesday evening at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver. In conjunction with the prestigious adidas ESP 09  Click Here  Program, Zidane was brought in as a guest clinician and during Tuesday evening's All Star event, he strapped on his boots and played 30 minutes in each half for both All Star sides.  Read More...
  • Alec Sundly, a member of the Irvine Strikers U18 Development Academy team, is slated to join MNT Coach Wilmer Cabrera and 39 other elite players at the National Team Domestic Training Camp in Somerset, N. J.. Sundly, a member of the Irvine Strikers since U12, is competing for a coveted spot on the U17 MNT team roster.   • On Tuesday, June 9th and Wednesday June 10th, the Irvine Strikers Academy played host at Concordia University, to some of the best Development Academy players in Southern California.   •  Former Strikers Alumni Jonathan Bornstein ('02) and Benny Feilhaber ('03) contributed to a key U.S. Mens National Team win over Honduras Saturday at Soldiers Field in Chicago. Bornstein, a starter at left back, had a solid performance and played a full ninety with Feilhaber providing a playmaking spark in the midfield after subbing on in the 46th minute.   • The Strikers 18 Academy team with a win over the Chivas Development Academy team could potentially spoil Chivas' travel plans to the US Soccer Development Academy Playoffs in Greensboro North Carolina. A win over Chivas in the last Division match for both teams, puts Chivas into a fourth place position in the So Cal Division table. Only the top three finishers are guaranteed a playoff spot.
