About us

Over the past several years, the Chicago Fire Soccer Club and NWI ndiana Fire Juniors have been working together to create the preeminent elite youth soccer program in Northwest Indiana.

In collaboration with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, NW Indiana Fire Juniors has helped prepare young players for the Fire's various elite programs. After much thought and consultation with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, NW Indiana Fire Juniors have decided to move forward once again as an independent club, which will be known as Indiana Elite FC. Current NW Indiana Fire Juniors Owner and Director of Coaching Novi Marojevic will lead Indiana Elite FC, along with the existing staff of NW Indiana Fire Juniors.

Both parties released statements regarding the decision. Novi Marojevic spoke of the relationship between the two clubs moving forward:

“When we entered into our original agreement with the Chicago Fire, we saw this as a long term relationship. We do not see the relationship ending, just changing. We will once again operate as an independent club as we did prior to becoming the NW Indiana Fire Juniors, but will maintain the relationship that we have developed with the Fire going forward. I feel that this will provide additional opportunities for our players alongside those that are available through the Fire. The Fire have been very supportive through this process and of our decision.”

On behalf of the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, Vice President of Business Development Jeff Wagner added the following:

“We take great pride in the strong relationship we have established with NW Indiana Fire Juniors, the coaching staff, the players and the families. Although it is difficult to see the club move forward independent of the Fire, we respect Novi’s decision.  The Fire will continue to have a presence in Northwest Indiana, and we look forward to working with Indiana Elite to provide its players with the best experience possible.”

All parties are working together to help NW Indiana Fire Juniors make a seamless transition into Indiana Elite FC. To avoid any confusion, NW Indiana Fire Juniors will continue to be affiliated with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club through the end of the 2014 regular season. Thereafter, Indiana Elite FC will operate as a separate entity. The tryout process for the club will remain the same as previous seasons and take place at the end of the 2014 spring season.

Players of Indiana Elite FC will continue to receive the following opportunities from the Chicago Fire Soccer Club:

  • Continued inclusion in Fire Juniors enhanced programming
    • The Chicago Fire will offer continued participation for current players in the Generation Red (boys and girls) and Elite Female ID Program
    • Academy relationship
  • The Chicago Fire will continue its Academy relationship with Indiana Elite FC which will allow Indiana Elite FC to identify top talent for the Fire’s Academy teams
  • Quaker Invitational youth tournament
    • Indiana Elite teams will be invited to the Quaker Invitational tournament to be held in Libertyville, IL in the fall of 2014
    • Indiana Elite FC will receive the same discounted registration fee that all Fire Juniors clubs receive
  • Discounted Tickets to Fire games
    • The Chicago Fire will offer discounted ticket opportunities to Indiana Elite FC players and family members
