About BSSL
What is BSSL?
In existence for over 25 years, the Bruce Samlan Soccer League is the premier recreational & developmental soccer league in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. BSSL stresses sportsmanship and enjoyment of soccer along with a focus on recreational and developmental learning. BSSL provides the environment where young soccer players have fun while learning the sport. For these young players, our primary goal is to introduce soccer as a great way to have fun. We're trying to create life-long soccer players and fans. We do this by using a Small-Sided format in our U10 and below divisions. BSSL teams are separated into boys and girls teams except in the two youngest divisions, Shooting Stars & Fast Feet, which are coed for 4-5 year olds and 6 year olds respectfully. We have 2 seasons of play, Fall and Spring. Each season consists of 8 games. All games are played on Saturday mornings at the Pacific Bearing Soccer Complex located at 6402 E. Rockton Road, Roscoe, Illinois 61073. BSSL is an entity of the Hononegah Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) which also encompasses BSSL's sister organization, Hononegah Lions Soccer Club. Together volunteers for HYSA work to maintain soccer programs that enable players to participate at any level they wish. The Hononegah Lions Soccer Club offers teams that serve as progressions from BSSL.
